Ubisoft just announced making major changes to its subscription services. Ubisoft+ will evolve into two distinct flavors: Ubisoft+ Premium and Ubisoft+ Classics, catered to different gaming appetites.

Ubisoft+ Premium, now a singular, comprehensive offering, brings the excitement of new releases and early access to games like “Prince of Persia: The Lost Crown” right to your doorstep. This service, priced at $17.99 per month, not only includes day-one releases but also rewards gamers with premium editions and DLCs across various platforms such as Xbox, PC, and Amazon Luna.

Meanwhile, Ubisoft+ Classics, a new addition at $7.99 per month, offers a handpicked collection of popular titles like “Far Cry 6” and “Rainbow Six Siege.” Initially available to PlayStation+ members, it has now made its way to PC, providing an affordable gateway to Ubisoft’s rich gaming history.

Philippe Tremblay, the Director of Subscription at Ubisoft, highlights the journey and growth of Ubisoft+. Over four years, millions of subscribers have clocked over 600 million hours of gameplay. Tremblay points out that the diverse subscriber behaviors, from trial users to long-term gamers, underline the service’s appeal and flexibility.

One striking insight is that one in ten Ubisoft+ subscribers are newcomers to Ubisoft games, showcasing the service’s ability to attract fresh audiences. As for Ubisoft+ Premium, its offering of day-one releases and early access to high-profile games like “Assassin’s Creed: Mirage” adds significant value despite its price, higher than some competitors.

The subscription model, still a growing segment in the gaming industry, offers a blend of accessibility and convenience. As the industry leans towards streaming, Ubisoft plans to integrate the Activision Blizzard catalog into Ubisoft+, amplifying its appeal. Despite challenges like subscription fatigue, Ubisoft remains optimistic, viewing its service as a low-commitment, high-reward offering for gamers of all stripes.

In essence, Ubisoft’s revamped subscription models cater to a broad spectrum of gamers – from those seeking the latest releases to those exploring the classics, reaffirming their commitment to providing quality and diverse gaming experiences.
